Ok, so in my state of needing to help pass time I want to start a little name guessing game. I know that you don't know if it is a boy or a girl, so you will need to guess a girl name and a boy name even if you are SURE it is one or the other.
You will have to leave you guesses in the comment section of the blog so all can enjoy and take part in the fun.
When I say ALL that is what I mean. There are many people who check this blog who never leave a comment which is perfectly fine, but for this game I am asking you to participate.
Let's see how many people we can get to take part in this blog post. I think our record is 16 comments.
Can't wait to see your guesses. Maybe I give a reward to anyone who guesses the right name.

Okay so Since everyone knows I think they are having a girl. My girl guess is Ella Rose. My boy guess is Douglas Willis. (There is a dream behind the boy name and Willis is Nick's guess). Since it's not going to be a boy, I'll just leave that as my guess.
ReplyDeleteI thought I heard you say once that the only names you were thinking about could go either way (boy or girl names) so I've been trying to think of names that I would like either way. I had two that I was liking, right now I can only remember one: Jordan.
ReplyDeleteIf it's a boy, I'd bet the middle name would be John, but it's a girl, and I don't have a clue . . . sticking with Rose maybe? Jordan Rose.

I think I used up all my luck on getting Matea right, so here goes. Girl name Josie Rose (just a cute name- no reason- a real shot in the dark) and for a boy John Nicholas. Did we ever get any hints of any kind that I missed / because I'd like another guess if there was some kind of hints given at some point.... love Beth
ReplyDeleteOoooh, Amy, I LOVE the name Ella. We thought of using it as a girl's name (before we found out Luke was a boy) because it's so close to my maiden name. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm totally cheating here, and hoping Nicole's right with the interchangable boy/girl name and using the middle names already suggested.
The only name I could think of that would work either way is Cameron.
So Cameron Rose or Cameron John. :)

My gut instinct is a girl named Grace Marie. If it is a boy, I love Benjamin Michael. I wanted to name one of our boys Benjamin but my husband vetoed it! I hope to have some internet access on vacation so I can keep checking in. I am praying for you all. Carolyn

ReplyDeleteI'm cheating also (from Nicole's suggestions). I would have picked Rose (for Jenny's middle name) and since I'm not sure I know Mark's middle name I'm going to go with John for the boy's middle name also.
My guesses are Casey Rose and Casey John.

ReplyDeleteJenny - you should add a "List" gadget and add the baby names as people guess. That way, when people open your blog, they can see who has guessed what on the side of your blog. So, you would have to tally up all the names as people leave comments, and add them to the list every so often.

I will have to think and post a name later, but I do have a question: Beth, did you really guess Matea? WOW! One clue somewhere that I think I heard was that the name they had chosen had a nickname which they did not like.

Ok, I'm cheating as well...from Nicole's suggestion...you once told me that when you looked waaaay back at your list of names from long ago and Emery made your top 15 list...and besides, you know how I'm partial to that name! It can swing either way....Emery Lane for a boy and Emory Rose for a girl (i guess that's the consensus for your middle name?? didn't know that...i thought it was Marie). I'll have to tell you, i'm not a very patient person, and i'm getting anxious to see this new little one...and we're leaving on vacation soon! :) Geri

I guessed Matea because Mazzie was calling the baby "baby patayta" and a family in Paola had just adopted a baby from Guatamala named Mateo (a boy) and Matea is the feminine form of it... to answer Cheryl's question....

Ok, I'm another first "poster"....Baby boy guess is Riley James (as a nod to Manhappiness) - and I wouldn't like RJ for a nickname either. Baby girl guess is Sadie Rose. I had also thought of Grant for a boy since he would be granting your life-long wishes.

I have always thought a little girl should be named Molly. In fact, I will make the offer that IF you have a girl and IF you name her Molly, I will pay for her college education - IF she wears red and graduates from Nebraska.

My suggestion for a little girl would be Melina Marie (I need to watch CSI again to see how to spell Melina) and for a little boy I like Alex Joseph.
