Just because

Mom laid out a big blanket and a bunch of toys for me to play with one day in the office so she could work on some homework and, well, I had other plans. I was to loud though so mom caught me digging around in the gift closet. She should have known better. I don't stay on a blanket anymore.
This is one of my favorite spots in the house. Playing in front of the mirror with dad. I love mom's perfume bottles. They never let me touch them though. One day I will be big enough and I will get them.

Mom says I look cute here. I think maybe mom shouldn't be left alone with me in the bath anymore. Although dad wasn't much help he got mom the camera. :)

Alfalfa?

Mom was really funny this day.

I just won't let mom catch me dancing on video, but it is sure cute when I do it!

Monae's birthday

Monae and her cake made by my mom and dad
This is me by my cousin Matea who is two months older than me. Couldn't you tell that by looking at our sizes ;)

Look at me I can fly

I was NOT short on attention this day.

Happy Birthday to you

swimming

My cousin Blake (aka Cheeks) called me two Fridays ago and asked if I wanted to go swimming. He said he had fun with me in the bath and thought we could play in the pool better. So we went. I thought it was OK, I was really tired though so I mostly sat there and watched the other kids. Mom and dad got more excited than me I think, they were so anxious and taking all sorts of pictures. I guess it was because it was my first time. They did tell me though that this would be good practice for our Kampling family vacation this summer to Great Wolf Lodge. I hope I have as much fun as they think I will there.

snow

Here I am in the snow. I didn't do much other than sit there, but still it was something new. Mom had been telling me for days she needed pictures of me in the snow, but had to have someone here to help her as she didn't want to just sit me there and then walk away so she could take pictures. Then this day dad got home early enough from work that the sun was still out. It was pretty neat that snow, but man was it cold. Mom says maybe next year I can have some snow ice cream. Sounds delicious.

superbowl

We had some friends over for the super bowl again this year, but I only took pictures of one thing. Jaren and, our friends Tisha and Caleb's baby, Cadyn. Cadyn is two months younger than Jaren. I will also say though, in Jaren's defense, that she was born 6 weeks premature. While we know Jaren is huge this makes it look that much worse.

We had a great time with wonderful company. We enjoyed playing with the babies, eating the good food, and watching the commercials, since the game wasn't much to watch.

VOTE for ME!!!

To try and explain this quickly. Mom got bored on one of our snow days and had been reading one of her new parent magazines when she came across a cover contest for the magazine. Well, Amy had just brought over my adorable 6 month pictures so mommy entered me into this contest.

Then yesterday she got an e-mail from the magazine that they selected one of the 6 pictures mom entered to be in a separate contest for this week and to have people vote for it. So here is the link so you can go vote if you have time. I don't think I can win anything other than pride for my mom and dad on how darn adorable I am.

It's a GIRL!

Yesterday early morning at 4:23 to be exactly, I became a big cousin for the first time!!! My aunt Nikki and Uncle Bob had a baby girl. Her name is Mariah Lynn Trujillo (Lynn is after my grandma Cheryl) She was 8 pounds 4 ounces and 19 inches long. Her and aunt Nikki are both doing well and actually at home right now :)

Mom took me to see my new cousin last night and she was awake a lot of the time and eating like a champ. Don't worry though guys she has a long way to go to catch up with these thighs. Mom kept talking about how cute her ears were, but I think mom is crazy some of the time - who really looks at the ears?

Anyway here is a picture of her. Now I have to wait until May to be a big cousin again, when my uncle Todd and aunt Rhonda have their baby (boy?)

Jaren and the Johnny Jump

I love my Johnny Jump! While you won't see much emotion out of me most of the time while I am in it, I do love it. It stays hanging in our door frame and mom and dad can't walk past it carrying me without me staring at it or reaching for it because I want in it I just love to jump. I hope you enjoy watching these as much as I love being in it.
My cousin Blake also called and asked me to go swimming with him this past week at the YMCA and mom and dad said I could go. They went to of course, they are typical first time parents have to see all my firsts. Oh, well, I guess that is ok because it is funny watching them act like fools when I do something new :) I love you guys, but you are funny sometimes. Anyway I will try to talk mom into posting the pictures soon if she can affort to take a break from her homework. She keep reminding me she will graduate in less than a year, and next semester will be better because she will only be taking one class and she won't have to drive to campus once a week!!!

Congrats Mommy

So you may all remember a while back that my mommy had to take her COMPS on the weekend of the K-State vs. KU football game. And she passed her COMPS for her masters. That is her comprehensive test over her whole program. Not just a class, but all the classes she has taken over the past 5 years. It was a 4 hour 4 essay question test. She literally typed for 4 hours - she was tired.

Well, Four and a half weeks ago mommy had to take another test in the PRAXIS series. If you are a teacher you would know what that is. It is the testing series that all students going through in the teaching education programs, at least for the state of Kansas. Mommy had to take 3 tests while at K-state and then she had to take two for her masters. They are very expensive so she didn't want to take them again

And - finally, I'll tell you that she found out yesterday she passed.

Now all she has to do it complete her research this semester as well as present her hopeful research for next semester to the international review board. Then next semester she has to carry out her research after the International review board approves it and then calculate her results and present them to her research committee and defend her research and she should be graduating NEXT DECEMBER!!! I can't wait until mommy is done!!!

Trip to KC

A couple of weekends ago my parents took me to KC to visit with (aunt) Kelsey and (uncle) Marshal. We had a great time and I was VERY interested in their dogs. Mom and dad say I can spend time with Kelsey and Marshal's dogs any time, just don't ask for one. :) Party poopers.

Jaren thinking "I would like to taste Riley's ears"

This was the weekend when Jaren really seemed to 'get' sitting!
Now you can't stop him.

Mark and Marshal at the restaurant

Kelsey and Jenny at the restaurant

Me and Mommy playing at the restaurant.

I had a great time and can't wait to play with them again. Mommy says their coming to Wichita late this month and I can't wait.

I'm a big boy

Mom just can't figure out how to get these pictures straight on the blog but you will still get the point.

Look how big I have gotten.

I am not in this chair any more at all as I was to big for it. I now sit in a cool chair and I can reach the water and splash that much better.

This one is from late October

This one is from early December

I'm a pretty BIG deal :)
