babies room

The room is ready. There is one wall hanging I am still working on, but other than that we are ready to go. The nails are even hung for the wall hanging so as soon as I can get it finished it will be up and ready. We do still need to hang the video monitor, but we are relishing every last min. we can use it with Jaren while we can before we switch him to his new monitor. The video monitor has proven benificial as we have moved to the toddler bed. We will miss not having that with him, but will appriciate having it in the babies room as much as we did when Jaren was an infant.

3 weeks left as of today, if I go ontime, which I'm not counting on. I keep telling myself 5 weeks left, although I'd give anything to sleep on my stomach tonight.

just catching up

We have been busy around here trying to get ready for the baby. We got a dresser and have been busy painting it to match the new big boy bed. Last night we got both Jaren's room and the babies room finally set up. No decorations in the babies room yet, but we will wait to see the sex before we do that anyway.

Now we just sit and wait I guess. We are trying to remember that this time with Jaren we were still not sure if we were going to be blessed with adopting him yet.

Here is a pic Mark took one night during bed time routine when Jaren and I were just playin.

Jaren has always loved playing with, in, or on the laundry baskets and you can't see them here, but he was driving his cars around the basket.

35 weeks belly pic - I am 36 weeks on Tuesday.

Big Boy Bed

Jaren helped us move the crib out of his room Friday night and put it back together in the babies room. All of this so we could move him into his brand new big boy bed!!!

JAREN'S BIG BOY BED!!!

I was NOT ready for my baby to move to a big boy bed, but with the baby coming soon, we had to do it sooner than later. He did AMAZING.

I was prepaired for the worst. We did our regular bed time routine and talked about how he was going to sleep in his new big boy bed. Then we laid him down he cried we went back in and laid him down one time and then he was out. He did wonder into our room at 12:30. Mark laid him back down and he was out till 6:30. He suprised me so much, I'm so proud of my big boy. I'm struggling with my baby being so big, but I guess it had to happen sooner than later.

new rug and painted room

Mark and I finally found a rug we both liked at Lowes this past week. We had to have something. I am a carpet girl and needed a soft place to sit and play with Jaren and the baby.

This past week we also finished painting the babies room. Mark did the primer - the entire first coat and the second coat of trim - then my parents came and did the final coat of paint while Mark was taking the GMAT (WHICH HE PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS!!!) We are proud of you daddy, now you can get your masters like mommy :)

Anyway, then last week, Mark and I painted of the lines and got busy. We think it tured out great. We are now painting Jaren's new toddler bed and ready to set up the nursery.

POOR BABY

Well, if you don't already know we have been through the ringer here the past three weeks. If you do know here are the pictures.

It all started three weeks ago prior to Jaren having his adnoids removed. 5 days before surgery he got a cold and we thought we were going to have to postpone surgery. He got mostly better so the surgery was a go and went well other than comin out of anastetia (sp?).

The days following surgery were not going well and we couldn't seem to beat a come and go fever - so we went back to the doctor to find out he had an infection and was put on an antibiotic. It seemed to help a bit, but still not great.

6 days onto antibiotic, last Monday, when Mark was putting Jaren to bed he noticed a red area on the back of Jarens leg, but put cream on it and thought nothing else. Then Tuesday morning this is how our son woke up :(

We called the doctor and they said to continue the benedryl we started that a.m. and if it got worse to bring him the next day - so we listened and this is what he looked like when he got home from daycare on Tuesday.

So Wednesday I took him to the doctor and was told that this was a hystamine (sp?) reaction to the amoxocillin (sp?) that he was on for the infection. A bad hystamine reaction, but that it was for sure a hystamine reaction and since Jaren was not two years old yet, keeping with the benedryl was all we could do. This is what he was looking like at this point.

I let them schedule me to see the PA my sister has always told me to NEVER go to - I will listen better next time. I say this because when we woke up on Thursday morning this is what we looked like. This is an hour after benedryl too so his eye is open way more than it was right when we got up. His face, hands and feet were swollen, he was walking like a robot and had troubles sitting down from stiff joints. None of this is good for a hormonal pregnant woman to see or watch her child go through :)

Needless to say we went back to the doctor first thing Thursday morning and found out that yes, this was NOT the previously promised hystamine reaction and that is was a blah blah blah reaction (some long medical name) and that he would need a steroid to get better. Mark went to pick up the medicine and he got his first dose on Thursday at lunch. Thursday by dinner he looked 80% better and he smiled for the first time in days. That evening Mark and I just watched him play in delight. He is now doing GREAT and only had one more day of meds to take. You can still see marks from the rash, but you have to look for it and other than a MASSIVE appitite and some ROID RAGES we are doing AMAZING and Mark and I couldn't be more greatful to have our baby back FINALLY!!!

Now we just have to avoid the ear infection we are praying to dodge. He has fluid in his ears from the adnoid surgery that isn't infected yet, but we are supposed to watch him closely.

Thanks to everyone who was praying for us to make it through not only the last week but the last month, it is greatly appriciated - sorry this got so long, but it was a weeks worth of a story to tell.
