July, 11th 2012

We had Jaren's party the weekend before his birthday this year, but still simply celebrated his birthday on Wednesday. It was really confusing to him so we didn't do much. Mark got home from work and we took the kids swimming, then to the local gas station for some yummy ice cream. It was a great day and I can't believe my baby is three years old already. Now if only we could figure out how to poop in the pot.

Happy Birthday little man we love you with all our hearts.

Cute stories to go with this as well. As part of our bedtime routine we take a bath, sing three songs, get lotion and pj's, read two books and our daily blessing, say prayers and go to bed. So we start our routine and Jaren is sitting with Mark to sing songs. We generally each get to pick one, so on Wednesday night I picked, Happy Birthday to YOU!!! We are half way through singing the song and Jaren sits straight up and is saying WAIT WAIT WAIT "we have to have cake and ice cream first"

Not birthday related cute story. We were playing in the living room today and Jaren insisted we all wear hats. Then he put the cowboy hat on and I could see a light bulb go off. He said mom we have to throw candy. I couldn't figure out what he was talking about till he started walking by me and pretending to throw candy. He was reenacting the fourth of July parade. The end of the parade was the horses, with people wearing cowboy hats and they were throwing candy at us. So the next hour we had to play parade and pretend to go past each other and throw candy :) So cute.

Landrie update

Here is Landries pics and her updated percents.

Everything checked out great at the doctor. We passed our 6 month mark for the UTI's so appear to be in the clear with all of that. And only had to be cathed one time.

She weighs 20 pounds and 6 oz. which is the 38%
She is 28 3/4 inches tall which is the 39%
and her head it in the 55%

She is so smiley still and is just in general a happy baby :)

Enjoy the pics

Happy Birthday Jaren

We had an AWESOME birthday party for Jaren this past weekend. All of Jaren's grandparents, and both his godparents were able to make it!!! We had a great time with wonderful food. His party was a Mickey Mouse/Kabob themed party. I know strange combo, but it worked.

I can't believe that he is 3 already. His doctors appointment is next week. I will update with percents and his new pictures then.

Jaren/Dog

If you don't know Jaren has become deathly afraid of Dogs. While it is getting much better he still does not like them at all. He talks about Dogs all the time and how they are mean and that he doesn't want to be around them and gets very nervous to go places where dogs are. Just to be hard to figure out though, he likes to pretend to be a dog when he is playing. ????? Who knows...

He has not always been afraid of dogs though. While looking through old pictures today I came across these and had to post them for all to see that he didn't used to mind being around dogs at all. We don't know what changed this for him.

These pics were taken while on a trip to KC to visit Kelsey and Marshal. This is their dog Riley. They maybe didn't have their second dog Deets during this time.

Also notice how wonderfully drenched his shirt is. This was also pre adnoid surgery when he drooled ALL the time.

It's getting hot in here

While out shopping yesterday evening, for the food for our Kabob themed birthday party we are having tomorrow, our air conditioner decided it was tired and didn't want to work anymore.....

This is what our daughter looks like when sleeping in a house without AC. We actually had to put a fan in her room to get her to go to sleep.

Jaren didn't seem to be bothered. He still wanted his socks on, no matter how much we tried to talk him out of it and he wanted his blanket on. I don't have a picture of him because, well, he always beats me out of bed. He still enjoys waking up daily around 5:30.

We are getting VERY excited for our baby to turn three, as is he. He is letting everyone know that he will be three in a week and that we are having a chocolate, Mickey Mouse cake for his party.

Pics to come I promise. I will be getting Landrie and Jaren's updated pictures very soon as well and will post those on here with their new percents from their doctors appointments.

Oh, and to explain the background. Jaren LOVES this show and all the singing and dancing. We used a song they sang on the show for his birthday slideshow and when it started playing he asked if he could go watch 'music' (that is what he calls Glee, he thinks that the name of it, and well, we think it's cute so we never corrected it). We had them DVR'd at the old house and he isn't enjoying not having them on command here at the new house.

where'd my babies go

This week has been crazy for me in how much my children are reminding me they are not babies anymore.

Jaren:

1)  Last week we went swimming with my sister and her children.  4 days later I was taking Jaren and Landrie swimming and getting Jaren dressed he says "mom am I wearing that swim suit?"  I said yes  and he said "oh, just like Caleb"  Calebs swim suit had not been a point of discussion at all he simply is just that observant and remembered not only that one of his cousins was wearing it but which one was wearing it.

2)  We went to main street to eat at the local pizza joint with Michael and Kasey they other night and while we were there I told Jaren that we needed to show daddy how to get the mail, because he hadn't been to the post office and didn't even know which box was ours.  Jaren walked straight into the post office and directly to our box and showed daddy which box was ours.  THEN, he started turning the dial to open it.  I would have fallen over if he had opened the box.  He didn't know the code, but he knew what he was supposed to do.

Both examples PERFECT reminders of how much he is watching and paying attention to EVERYTHING!!!

Landrie:

1) Sat. when we were done with snack daddy got her out of her high chair and stood her on the ground and said lets go take a bath Landrie Lynn.  She turned around and walked straight to the bathtub.

2)  Sunday Landrie picked up my car keys from the night stand in our bedroom.  Walked them all the way across the house to the garage door and started saying "bye bye"

Ohhhh, where have my babies gone.  She started walking and that was all she wrote.  She has aged a year in the past two weeks I swear.

Then we have Jaren's 3rd birthday party this coming weekend        THREE     I can't believe it.
